Mechanics of Safety Netting

Mechanics of Safety Netting

  • Safety Nets are provided once requested by the Building Company or Builder
  • Safety Nets are installed at a similar time to Scaffold/ Edge Protection.
  • Safety Nets must be installed before anyone can work at height.
  • Nets installed by 1-2 persons and on average take approximately 4 hours to install on the average home.
  • Charge out rates for nets are based on an install, hire & dismantle basis.
  • All rooms of the property are covered including Bedroom Cupboards to ensure all fall risk zones are covered.
  • The included rental period is 15 working days. This allows the builder to finish top plate, erect trusses, complete facia, gutter & install the roof.
  • The Safety Nets are fixed to the framing by a specially designed Hook system or rope.  The hook is hex screwed into the top of the wooden framing, below the top plate.
  • The Safety nets are then placed over the hook and secured into place with various roping techniques.
  • Large rooms are also secured with guide ropes through the middle of the room.
  • Upon completion of the job the installer will tag the job confirming installation date, Client detail, Installer details, Pro-Net contact information & Safety Information. The Installer will also give you a briefing on safe use of nets, compliance regulations & evacuation  information in the event of a fall into the nets.

* Please note: The Safety Nets are specifically designed to stretch upon use & cannot be used again once this happens. The Safety Nets are not designed to deliberately walked on in any capacity & negligent misuse  of Safety Nets is deemed as unlawful use of a Safety Device.
